Regional Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Eastern and Southern Norway (RBUP)

RBUP was established in 1998 by the Ministry of Health and Care Services. RBUP is dedicated to improving child and adolescent mental health and to protection of child development. Our vision is to contribute to positive differences in the lives of children and families, through prevention and service improvement.

The Centre establishes status of knowledge in relevant fields, conduct research, runs educational programs to professionals and supports quality improvements in services.

RBUP houses the National Network for Infant Mental Health, dedicated to prevention and early intervention, benefitting the healthy development of infants and toddlers - read more about the Network here.

The catchment area is Eastern and Southern Norway.  RBUP currently comprises a core group of about 100 persons; teaching and research staff and administrative employees. RBUP currently consists of the Department of Education, the Department of Research, the Network for Infant Mental Health and an administrative department, see a list of all our staff here.

From 2015, the Regional Centre - Violence, Trauma and Suicide Prevention, Region East (RVTS Øst) is also a part of the RBUP foundation.
We are situated in Nydalen in Oslo, close to public transportation (subway 4 and 6, and bus 30 and 37) see a map here.
